We’re excited to announce the release of Dell Private Cloud (DPC) 1.4 for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

Released on June 2, 2026, DPC 1.4 introduces full support for VCF 9.1, major advances in lifecycle automation, deeper PowerStore integration, and expanded capabilities powered by the Dell Automation Platform 2.0. Powered by the Dell Automation Platform, Dell Private Cloud delivers automated deployment and lifecycle management for modern private cloud infrastructure.

What’s New in DPC 1.4

Full VCF 9.1 Support

DPC 1.4 delivers VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1, enabling customers to deploy and operate both management and workload domains using Dell Automation Platform.

  • Support for management and VI workload domains using external storage over Fibre Channel (FC)
  • Integration with the native VCF installer (vCenter, NSX, SDDC Manager)
  • Support for standard HA topologies (4-node management, 3-node workload domains)
  • Compatibility with 16G and 17G Dell PowerEdge platforms
  • Requires Dell Automation Platform 2.0.0.1 for VCF functionality
  • PowerStore 4.x or later

DPC 1.4 simplifies Day-1 operations with blueprint-driven automation:

  • Fully automated deployment of the VCF management domain
  • Integrated provisioning of:
    • vCenter
    • NSX
    • SDDC Manager
  • PowerStore integration via Fibre Channel
  • Pre-validated blueprints for consistent, repeatable deployments

Dell Private Cloud 1.4 enables seamless workload domain deployment and expansion through native integration with VMware Cloud Foundation Operations and SDDC Manager. By leveraging validated, blueprint-driven automation, organizations can consistently create and scale workload domains while maintaining alignment with established VCF lifecycle and operational models. This ensures a familiar operational experience, reduces deployment complexity, and delivers predictable, repeatable outcomes across environments.

Platform Support

DPC 1.4 supports 16G and 17G Dell PowerEdge platforms, including:

  • PowerEdge R660, R760, R670, R770
  • PowerEdge R6715, R6725, R7715, R7725
Day-2 Operations: Blueprint-Driven Automation

DPC 1.4 brings infrastructure-as-code automation into Day‑2 operations, enabling consistent and efficient management of VCF environments. It provides centralized visibility and lifecycle control through automatic discovery of nodes and clusters, while blueprint-driven workflows simplify key tasks such as node commissioning (including ESXi imaging and storage preparation) and scaling via the VCF free pool. Additionally, automated node reclaim and decommissioning ensures efficient reuse of infrastructure by handling factory reset, license release, and inventory updates.

Serviceability

DPC 1.4 delivers a unified serviceability framework with centralized logging, event management, and built-in telemetry, along with integrated support connectivity and automated call-home capabilities for proactive issue resolution. It also enhances visibility with clear identification of VCF clusters in system views and enhanced alerting and dial-home payloads with VCF tagging.
