VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 on Dell VxRail 9.1.000 became Generally Available (GA) on June 16th, 2026. Dell Technologies and Broadcom are pleased to announce this milestone. This release supports ESX 9.1.0.0 and vCenter Server 9.1.0.0 and includes support for in-place upgrades to VCF 9.1 from existing VCF 5.2 and higher environments. VCF on VxRail combines Dell and VMware innovations to simplify, streamline, and automate SDDC operations with full lifecycle management. VCF 9.1 on VxRail 9.1.000 delivers security fixes and an updated BOM while maintaining core capabilities such as standard vSAN cluster support, broad 14G–17G hardware compatibility.

Some notable highlights of this VCF 9.1 On VxRail 9.1.000 release include:
Deployment: Supports standard vSAN clusters only; stretch clusters and dynamic nodes are not included with this release.
Hardware support: Covers 14G (Cascade Lake CPUs), 15G (Intel & AMD), 16G (Intel & AMD), and 17G Intel platforms.
17G: Supported for greenfield VCF 9.1 deployments as standard vSAN ESA clusters only.
Lifecycle management: Includes validated upgrade paths, automated remediation, proactive notifications, target state management, and pre-checks.
Serviceability: Provides logs, events, alerts, and telemetry to accelerate time to resolution.
AIOps: Delivers enhanced observability and operational insights through telemetry.
APIs: Public APIs enable integration and automation.
Day 2 operations: Includes hardware physical view, node lifecycle management, and cluster operations such as shutdown.
Networking: IPv4 support only.
