When performing a local offline upgrade of VxRAIL you will need to download the required upgrade composite bundle(s) from dell.com/support/ to complete your upgrade as guided by the associated VxRail SolVe procedure.
There is no need to load the software composite file locally when performing an Internet-connected upgrade – The upgrade file(s) is automatically downloaded from Dell online.
When performing a local offline upgrade of VxRAIL there are typically 4 download options per release:
- Full bundle for Internal or External vCenter
- Example name: VXRAIL_COMPOSITE-7.0.3xx-xxx_for_7.0.x.zip
- Slim Bundle for External vCenter only
- This composite file does not include the Internal vCenter files, which reduces the overall file size.
- Example Name: VXRAIL_COMPOSITE-SLIM-7.0.3xx-xxx_for_7.0.x.zip
- Multi Files for Internal vCenter
- Available from 7.0.130+. For internal vCenter only. Multiple smaller files make up the upgrade bundle to accommodate for situations where download bandwidth is limited.
