Note: there are underlying issues using ‘AD Integrated Windows Authentication’ when VMware SRM is part of a solution.
The chosen SSO identity source outlined in this example is ‘Active Directory as an LDAP Server’. This is also the identity source configuration used for an EHC solution.
This post addresses an issue where you experience the following error while logging into the Avamar Administrator Console:
“Invalid Certificate. Install a valid certificate and try again. You can use the Java Control Panel to import the certificate.”
A solution that worked for me was to update the version of Java that is supported by Avamar Administrator and reinstall the Avamar Administration Console.
1. Navigate to the downloads section on the Avamar server: https://192.168.0.49/dtlt/home.html#downloads
2. Navigate to the Windows directory 32/64 bit, download and install the version of Java provided:
3. Download and reinstall the version of the Avamar Administration Console from the same download directory used for Java above.
4. Once Java and AAC have been successfully installed you should now be able to successfully login.

A good place to start your troubleshooting is by restarting the ESXi management agents.
The following method uses the CLI option SSH/Local console to restart an ESXi host management agents:
/etc/init.d/hostd restart
/etc/init.d/vpxa restart
