VxRail – NTP Configuration

VxRail Manager NTP

If you wish to change the current NTP server on the VxRail Manager then use vi /etc/ntp.conf and click ‘i’ to modify the existing NTP server IP/Hostname. Confirm the changes with cat /etc/ntp.conf

Now restart the NTP service for the changes to take effect:  systemctl restart ntp.

Then resync the VxRail Manager clock with that of the new NTP server: ntpdate -u [IP or FQDN]

Check the time compared to the NTP server: ntpdate -q [IP or FQDN]

Set the hardware clock with the system time which is now syncing with the newly set NTP server: hwclock -w

Then confirm the hardware clock aligns with systems time: hwclock | date

Perform final validations:

  • ntpq -p 
  • ntpq -c assoc
