vRSLCM 2.0 – ‘Patch 1’ Install

For details of vRSLCM Patch 1 and associated fixes please refer to VMware KB59658

Note: It is best practice to snapshot vRSLCM before proceeding with the update.

From the top right corner of vRSLCM notification alerts are visible, clicking on the icon presents ‘Patch 1’ as being available for download:

Navigate to Settings > Update and click on ‘INSTALL PATCH’:

Click on ‘CHECK PATCHES ONLINE’

Available patches are displayed, select ‘PATCH1’ and click on the blue down arrow to proceed with downloading the patch:

There is also an option to ‘UPLOAD’, in the event vRSLCM is not online you can manually download the patch from https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/patch

Patch in the process of being downloaded which took approx 30mins, downloading at a speed of 400KBps as can be seen from the vCenter client performance console below:

Click next once download completes:

Review the patch details and when ready click on ‘INSTALL’:

Once you receive ‘Patch Installation request was submitted successfully.’ click DONE:

Once the install commences you will be redirected to the vRSCLM maintenance window:

Once the update completes the appliance version info is updated, at this stage reboot the appliance:

Patch install complete:

vRSLCM 2.0.0.1 supports the following vRealize products and their respective versions:

To troubleshoot any issues the patch install log file is /var/log/vlcm/patchcli.log:

Once you verify vRSLCM is functioning correctly then you may remove the snapshot.
